Let's be real-- this stuff is rather confusing. I've met multiple commercial real-estate attorneys who still can't get the rule against perpetuities down... This was a FANTASTIC supplement to your casebook... Unlike other supplements, this focuses exclusively on just this one confusing area, and gives explanations and examples in great detail (instead of just giving you the rule and saying good luck in applying it)... Truly a savior-- I actually understand the rule against perpetuities now.
I never understood property law, particularly possessory estates and future estates, until I met Professor Wendel and this book. His methods of teaching this area of law are easily accessible and make even the rule against perpetuities understandable! Worth the $!
While there are several typos and errors in this book, each professor teaches conveyances differently and wants them answered in a specific way... so if you use this book in conjunction with your individual professor's style it is a great supplement to have. It also breaks down conveyances and makes them simple to understand. Seriously, you will understand them after reading this book. Much better than Singer's Introduction to Property or even Gilbert's.
Not since the fiefdom has a book explained possessory estates like this one. With practice models that build on the previous lesson, you can't go wrong. I would suggest writing answers on separate sheets of paper so you can retake the quizzes again later. Now, if I can convince O to convey Greenacre to me instead of A.....hmmm.

No matter how you cut it, this part of Property I is a pain. You are dealing with an area of the law that I think now only exists on your final and the bar exam. My property professor may not have set the world on fire, but his assignment of this text was singly his best gift to his 1L students in the fall.The book is about the shortest thing you will read in law school that has any merit, and the prose is actually helpful. To compare, our assigned Property I text had over 1,000 pages and my entire class stopped reading it and went to legal lines all about week 3.Posessory Estates will be on your final. My understanding is that it will be on the bar. I am better prepared because of this book.
You will pass Property with flying colors with this! Examples are thorough and sample questions can be challenging! I recommend this for EVERY 1L!
