Elliot’s almost given up on finding his “oneâ€, but he still has faith that the right person for him is still out there waiting to be found. Holland’s been betrayed by the people who should have cared the most about her feelings and that’s left her a little skittish of romantic relationships. There’s just something about the chemistry she shares with Elliot. I loved watching this pair find their way through the obstacles in their path.I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book.
Holland marsh, moves from Idaho to Montana after her sister cheats with the fiancé, and her father‘s death, to start her life over again. She staying with her cousin, she’s been there about six months.Horseshoe home ranch, Elliot being a single cowboy with all his friends married, Elliot’s father falls on the Pham at the home family homestead, he broke his hip so he needs nurses and physical therapist come to the home. Elliot goes into town to mom and dad‘s to meet for the caregiving at home. He walks into the living room and all things fade away other than the beautiful woman who will be dad‘s physical therapist Holland.This is the way they met, can they choose God’s path for them.​
If you want to read about love at first sight, not keeping your baby, having your fiancee taken away from you, being accused of being unprofessional, having to unscrew light bulb to kiss good night, having to overcome grief, learning to forgive and much more, you need to live in the shoes of Eliott and Holland. Will they make it work or call it quits? Another great book by Liz Isaacson.
Love at first sight? Impossible! Fallout from poor choices made while in the depths of grief? Most definitely! Forgiveness for the ultimate betrayal? Not happening! Sometimes life's circumstances and the resultant emotions blind us from being able to see Around the Bend. Isaacson weaves a captivating tale intertwining these themes with realistic characters, circumstances and emotions. Readers are encouraged to discard anything that keeps us mired in the past. Be inspired and challenged to move forward to a better life by this great read!
You can't go wrong with this author. I love the Gold Valley series. Holland has been hurt by people the closest to her - she was much more gracious than I would have been. Elliott isn't looking for love but he is knocked out by Holland - not literally. A sweet, clean, christian romance with so much more. There is angst but we do get a hea.
I have read many of Liz's books, as her stories are good, but her endings are like a knitter who has run out of wool, we're always left with an unfinished relationship that looks like it might go well but who knows? This novel is the same way. It leaves you with all sorts of questions. Are HEA readers looking for the same old same old? This one is. I want in the fictional world what I didn't have and don't have in the real. At the age of 76, it's part of what helps me to get through my days.
I don't think I'm a believer in love at first sight because the premise of this book didn't sit well with me. It was well-written, as I've come to expect from Liz Isaacson, but I just didn't buy the love story. My favorite part was the heroinr's nontraditional hairstyle.
