My three year old loves Jaguars. I bought this book for her for her birthday. It was a big hit. There aren't any gory pictures in it, but it does tell you what exactly they hunt and eat. The only picture close to being gory is one where the jaguar is grabbing a turtle out of the water. It did not upset my daughter at all, but if you have a sensitive little one it could upset them.
This is a very cheaply made product. At best, I would expect this as a freebie insert in a child's magazine. I rarely give 1-star reviews, as I feel they seem spiteful, but I cannot even use this "book" as intended.Aside from a broken travel charger I purchased, I would say this is my most disappointing Amazon purchase to date.

Purchased this for my 1st Grader to use in an animal report. The photos are lovely, but the writing is pretty basic and it gives just an overview of highlights about this fascinating animal. If your child needs more in depth facts about jaguars or has a special affinity for the animal this is probably too basic for what they are looking for.
