Frankly for something called "The Potter's Bible" I really expected a lot more actual information. There's VERY little real information contained here. This is mostly a fancy picture book that has a few "ideas". I don't recommend it.
My ceramics teacher said he wished his college textbook had been this accessible. There's so much to learn in here, and it's very readable with wonderful color photos. I got a lot of decorative ideas, as well as helpful information. I'm so glad to have my own copy.
No real decent info in this book. I thought it'd tell more about processes, it's more of a picture book.
It's a nice book, with plenty of good information, but nearly half the book is devoted to glazes. I needed to learn about them anyway, but would have appreciated more on the other aspects of pottery. Still, it was useful.
The book is perfect for an art teacher. I bought this for a friend who will be teaching ceramics for the first time, to elementary students.The instructions are excellent and easy to follow. The illustrations are particularly helpful.
