I think this book offers a quick intro to ASP.NET Core 2. I touches each topic superfluously and the author does not go deep to explain them. I would say that if you are ASP.NET programmer with 5 years of experience or more and want to learn about ASP.NET Core 2 this book just gives you a quick over view of the new framework and how things differ from previous framework. If you want to design like a more enterprise application using ASP.NET Core, this is not the book for it.
One reason I bought this book is that in the print preview there was some text and screen shots in color, but in the actual book they are not in color, and beyond that the code in the screen shots is blurry. It looks like a good book and the font is larger than many which I like. Will update review after I read it.
I enjoyed reading this book and it helped fill in some gaps regarding features that I had overlooked or not seen. Prior to this book I had read, Pro Asp.Net Core Mvc, Pro Asp.Net Core Mvc 2, and Mastering Asp.Net Core 2.0 and this book helped concentrate on areas that are lightly/not covered in the others.
It starts with a high level overview of the .net core and goes little deeper after. I was hoping that it would dedicate more time on containers and azure. But last chapter gives you high level overview.
This book is very clearly written so that even developers that are new to the Web API can understand it.For developers that already have experience with Web API v1 and Web API v2 in .NET 4.5.x this book will very quickly show you how to update the core Web API functionality very quickly.I read this book in a single sitting, and I highly recommend it.
The book is good for people, like me, beggining in aspnet core api. I had to maintain the focus in the first three chapter, concepts.
I like this book very much. Very incisive and not chatty at all. For a .NET developer, this is absolutely a awesome book.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It gives me a clear understanding of the topic.
